NW High Academic Camp 3.5 GPA or Higher

Ryan Silver (West Coast Elite President) and Chase Young put together a sold out camp of 140 elite student athletes from the Northwest. The 3.5GPA min requirement is what attracted the tremendous support from high academic colleges from the West coast. Coaches from Caltech, Redlands, Occidental, UPS, Chapman, Lewis and Clark, Linfield, George Fox, Whitman, Willamette, and many others attended and coached teams during the camp. Campers received shooting instruction from UW legend Donald Watts, conditioning from professional trainer Tim Manson, and multiple games each day where they could showcase their talent in front of college coaches.

Seattle Select 2019 3.53 Cumulative Team GPA

The Seattle Select 2019 is a one of the premier freshmen teams in the NW and they are all dedicated to the classroom. It’s rare to have one of the most talented teams in the west coast that has the grades that this team does. We could not be more proud to have these student-athletes represent us on a national level. All players have received invitations to the West Coast and Northwest High Academic Showcase Camps this Summer and Fall to play in front high academic D1, D2, and D3 coaches and scouts.

“We are getting a lot of attention from the college coaches because of their GPA, more than the fact that they can dunk on guys and hit 3’s. Their competitiveness in the classroom shows a lot about their character and college coaches want the athletes who have proven their abilities to manage time, prioritize, and work hard in school. Players with high GPAs exhibit these qualities. College coaches are blown away when they see this explosive team knowing they all have the grades to pass through their admissions.” – Coach Chase Young

The 7th Grade Seattle Select Warriors 2021 won the Portland President’s Day Nike All-American Tournament in February. This has been historically NW’s largest national youth event of the year with ranked teams from all over coming to compete for the title. They had to knock of WestCoastElite25 #1 ranked 7th grade team “Seattle Rotary Style” in the championship who they have lost to twice this year. Shooting guard John Christofilis won tournament MVP honors. During their trip they got to visit University Portland with Portland Sophomore Jason Todd who ironically won the same tournament MVP award when he was in 7th grade playing for Chase.

“This was a complete team effort and the boys really came together to get the win.” – Coach Chase Young
