Dan Dickau’s Pick and Roll Clinic
Join Seattle Select Director Chase Young and former NBA player & Gonzaga legend Dan Dickau for a high-level clinic focused on one of the most important and frequently used actions in today’s game: the pick and roll.
Dan is exceptional at teaching the details of pick-and-roll basketball and has been coming to our gym several times each year to work with student-athletes from all over the state. This clinic gives players a rare opportunity to learn the reads, timing, spacing, pace, and decision-making that separate good players from advanced players.
Players will work on:
- Reading different defensive coverages
- Using pace, angles, and change of speed
- Creating separation off ball screens
- Knowing when to score, pass, or reject the screen
- Pocket passes, skips, lobs, and kick-outs
- Attacking switches and mismatches
- Proper spacing and timing
- Finishing out of pick-and-roll situations
- Understanding the responsibilities of both the ball handler and screener
- Applying concepts through competitive drills and live play
The goal is to help players become better decision-makers, more confident playmakers, and higher-IQ basketball players while developing a skill set that is essential at every advanced level of the game.
This is a unique opportunity to learn directly from a former NBA point guard who played the position at the highest level and understands how to teach these concepts in a way players can immediately apply.
Recommended for advanced and elite players.
